(The American Portrait, part two.)
This foto is a tribute to all volunteers. Volunteers work with us for 36 hours a week, in exchange for food and stay.
It is very enjoyable to have people from the United States, Hungary, Belgium, Sweden, England, Australia, New-Zealand, and ofcourse our own homebase, Holland, around. All kinds of people, who make contacts and keep them, too. And between all the contact-making, they do a lot!
There is a lot to be cleaned and sweeped, to paint and portray, to mow and to prune, and ofcourse, a lot to create, here at the Termas da Azenha.
We are happy and proud to present you one more time some novelties, amongst others "The Toiletbuilding", the sanitairy facilities for the campsite. We wish you a good time, reading this newsletter!
THE TOILETBUILDING
A shower and a toilet maybe don´t give you the idea of being thrilled, but we are! We are very pleased with the sanitary facilities for the campsite, and we like to give you an impression of how it´s become.
ROOF OFF, ROOF ON
The so-called Casas em banda have a new roof. These are three little houses, where the "banhistas" used to stay. It will be three houses in future. This roof-replacement was a protection and a way to stop decay.The constructors "Fernando & Fernando" did again a wonderful job! Hereunder you see an example of Portuguese co-operation.

THE MAKING OF THE ROYAL ROOM ~ THANKS TO MARGARET & DANIELA
Two new rooms in the bathhouse on the first floor. Soon there will be one more ready. All three of them are decorated all over, as you can see. They have no private bathroom, but in a nice robe,you to go downstairs and choose your bathroom there.
HERBAL ~ ARRANGEMENT
Joyce van den Boom is one of the few specialists in fytotherapy here in Portugal; she knows about herbs and what to do with them. She can teach you how to make your own shampoos, coldcreams, scrubs, lotions and mascs. All kinds of skin- and haircareproducts, and everything in a pure and natural way.
This summer she will pass by the Termas every Wednesday- and Sundaymorning, to give a workshop. You will learn the techniques how to make your own biological, natural skin- and haircareproducts.For more information, send a mail to: info@termas-da-azenha.com of joycevandenboom@sapo.pt.
MASSAGEROOM / CHROMOTHERAPY
The new massageroom is ready for use. It is a special room with all chakra-colour-lights: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Every colour represents a certain quality like: certainty, cheerfulness, manifestation, love, expression, creativity and higher consciousness.These massages are given under a special kind of light, together with sound. The effect is creating awareness, insights, and deep relaxation.
FUTURE FOR THE SPA
In the near future, we will realise another massageroom on the ground floor of the Termas, type "Vichy". It will be the room for hotwatermassages, together with natural, herbal, ethereal oils. Lying down on a marble table, you will be sprinkled with hot mineral water and massaged with herbal oil.
THE WEDDING-DRESS.
One beautiful morning, unexpectedly, there was a couple passing by, to give their weddingdress away. It was a moving story, about the dress, and we appreciate it very much. We already had some nice hours with that dress, so: thank you so much,bride and groom, for giving us the gown!
If you would have any special clothes that you want to be preserved and in a safe place, please let us know. We would love to adopt it in our DressingRoom!
