Millions of people did not book their holidays yet.They are thinking about it, let´s see what´ll happen, don´t rush things, don´t sell the bear´s skin before they have caught him, they´ll go at haphazard. Let´s wait and see if the crisis will be (even) worse. The Termas da Azenha is, as ever, a rather cheap holiday-destination, and we like to keep it that way. The season is pretty well booked, so we hope you are not coming all at once haphazardly. We are always happy to greet (new) guests, but we can only host a certain amount of people. Let´s say 50 people, and than it´s full. Than it is still nice and easy for everybody, and that is exactly what we want to offer.
In the mean time, we build on: at the moment it is the swimmingpool, and we are eager to start a new project, before the buildingseason ends and the guestseason begins. You read all about it in this new Newsletter. We wish you a lot of pleasure with it!

These pictures speak for themselves, we think. Two hotelrooms have been reconstructed, got a couch, a fridge, a coffeemachine, a watercooker, some plates and cutlery ..... in other words, they got a mini-kitchenette, and are even more pleasant to stay in.
ENCHANTMENT
This mural is inspired by a house in Aveiro, but everywhere you look, you can see tiles, on the craziest spots. This artist fell in love with the tiles, as you can see. You could take a look on her website: www.irenejacobs.nl. She makes nice work, light and colourful. So if you don´t go on a holiday, maybe she can create a nice, cheerful wallpainting in your house ......
BUSY
We are busy doing the swimmingpool; as we mentioned in the last Newsletter. It is not really hard labour: it is mostly waiting. Waiting for the springrains to stop, waiting till the constructor comes, waiting till the pump has been repaired .... whilst we know the ropes, and we know them well, so it is no problem. The swimmingpool will be a beautiful construction of a deep basin, next to it the filtertank with a small terrace on top, next to that the "puppypool" and next to that the canes. The canes will filter the water in a natural way. Like this, we don´t have to put any chemicals in our wonderful pure healthy curing mineralwater.

RESTAURANT?
Making the swimmingpool, we needed some filling. That´s why we tore out some of the walls in the only ruins left in the Termas, to level the hole. Doing that, we were looking around and found out, that without those walls, this is an inspiring place! Spacious, rustic, rural .... like this, it could be a wonderful little restaurant, which is already a dream of the owners for years. We will work out the plans this Summer, and if you are interested in investing in a good restaurant, with an experienced chef de cuisine and an international menu, you can always contact us! There are several possibilities of participation.

FRESH
Would you like to have a foretaste of the menu in the restaurant? We always have served dinner (and sometimes lunch), and will continue to do so: lots of fish, also meat and always vegetarian food. This Summer we will have a wonderful pair cooking, Dietmar & Maria, who have many years of experience in a Portuguese restaurant in Berlin. Very promising!
SUNNY COOKING
The restaurant is still music of the future, (next year you will be the first), but for now we are cooking in our own kitchen on pure, unmanipulated sun-energy. The disk works very well (like a (frying) pan), the box too (works like an oven).
Coming 31st of May, we have another workshop, given by our own specialist prof. dr. Celestino Ruivo, in cooperation with some professors-doctors-engineers from Switzerland and India. Solar cooking is becoming very popular and very international. Even in the northern parts of the world it will be possible to cook on or with solar energy, without expensive devices. We have our solar waterheater on the roof now. The Electricity Company is not very pleased with us anymore ....
MASSAGES
Many guests want a massage, while staying here. You already know, we have several types: relaxation-, sports-, feet-, warmwatermassages and shiatsu. Also a hotstone is possible. You can reserve your massages together with your booking. Please, click here to see what you would like.
DONKEYS
Bella, Esmé andJoão are doing very well. They worked on a stable, balanced relationship, and they lead a calm and happy life. We could host some more donkeys, but then we should build more stables. Not at this moment. Maybe next year. You can´t do everything at the same time.
